This is the most vibrant and beautiful colored pencil work that I have seen thus far. It is simply beautiful. Thank you for sharing it through Colored Pencil Magazine for us to see.
Thank you so much Cindy! I’m so glad you liked it!
This is amazing and beautiful. Wow!!
Thanks so much Christle! Glad you like it!
This is amazing and inspiring. I saw it a few months back when I was surfing for different colored pencil works. I pinned it on my art page in interest to remind myself to look closer and see more when making art. I also saw it received an honorable mention at colored pencil mag but for me it was best of show. The color is so rich and amazing.
Thank you so much, Alexandria! I’m so happy when another colored pencil artist appreciates my work because you know how much time and devotion it takes to complete a piece. This is one of my all time favorite portraits so far. I’ll look forward to seeing more of your work too.
I remember seeing this piece in the ArtFido’s Huge artist competition. I must say this is my new screen saver lol. I’m 17 and I love drawing ever since I was little, and I have to admit this is stupendous!! Amazing!! Do you know how long it took you?
Hi Oscar! I’m so glad you like my drawing. As I recall, it look me about one month to complete. It is one of my favorite drawings too. Keep drawing. If you enjoy it, you will devote more time to it and improve as you practice. Are you in the ArtFido contest too?
This is just amazing Barbara! I love everything about this piece!!! I also love tons of other work on your site! I am so glad I started that flower page on FB, because it has introduced me to work like yours and other magnificent artist’s who I hadn’t heard of in the past. Please keep ‘em coming!! Best wishes, Diane Overmyer
Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my art and offering your positive feedback. I enjoy seeing the different artists post on your website too!
Your work is just transcendent — the most beautiful I have seen. Can you share which issue of Colored Pencil magazine has your work? Also, can you share what kind of pencils and paper you use? Thanks so much in advance. You inspire me so much.
Hi Deborah-I first want to apologize for not responding to your lovely and thoughtful comment earlier. With beginning the school year teaching high school art and completing a 12 portrait project for commission, I have been remiss in going to my own website. I feel so ashamed! Anyway, I’m happy that my work has inspired you! The issue of Colored Pencil Magazine that I was in is March 2013. I was also featured in Ann Kullberg’s Colored Pencil Magazine’s June 2015. If you would like to keep current with my work as it progresses, you can follow me on Facebook. I’m on there more often. I have experimented with a lot of papers and pencils, but I find that I prefer Prismacolor on Stonehege printmaking paper. I usually work on a toned paper like grey, kraft, or black. Thanks again for reaching out to me.
This blows me away. Unbelievable!
Thank you so much Rhea!
